What’s next? – DAX 03.11.17

Posted by Anonymous at 10:58 Labels: what’s next

The DAX futures were 0.06 percent into red territory on Friday at 13,467.5 points as of 06:50 GMT, as investors opted to take profits due to the lack of economic reports in Europe.

Germany’s benchmark ended Thursday at 13,440.93, down 24.58 or 0.18 percent with software, basic resources and technology pushing to the downside.

The best performers of the session were Deutsche Bank, which added 3.28 percent to 14.635, Commerzbank rising 0.80 percent to 11.995 and Vonovia up 0.76 percent to 38.49.

The worst performers of the session were Infineon Technologies easing 2.12 percent to 23.965, Fresenius falling 1.92 percent to 69.31 and Prosiebensat 1 Media down 1.66 percent to 28.685.

On the data front, the German manufacturing PMI for October came in at 60.6, outperforming expectations for a 60.5 reading. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.6 percent.

There are no relevant data scheduled in Europe. We expect the index to remain in a consolidation phase until next week, when new economic reports will provide guidance.

In the United States, focus will be at October’s labor data at 12:30 GMT, including average hourly earnings, nonfarm payrolls and the unemployment rate. Economists are expecting to see an addition of 310,000 jobs in the US private sector and a 0.2 percent rise in salaries.

Attention will also be directed to trade balance figures for September as of 12:30 GMT, with a $43.20 billion deficit seen. Factory orders for September and ISM non-manufacturing PMI for October are due at 14:00 GMT.
