Weekly Outlook: Sep 25 - Sep 29
Monday
Europe: Germany’s business expectations, current assessment and lfo business climate for September are all due at 08:00 GMT. Market analysts are forecasting 107.9, 124.6 and 115.9 readings respectively.
Tuesday
United States: the Conference Board is set to release its consumer confidence index for September as of 14:00 GMT, with a 120.6 reading eyed. New home sales for August will be out by the same time. Experts are predicting a 0.7 percent monthly build to 547,000 units. Commodity traders will also keep an eye on crude stockpiles from the American Petroleum Institute, figures that are commonly presented late in the afternoon.
Wednesday
Europe: the United Kingdom will set the tone with fresh readings on business investment, current account and gross domestic product for the second quarter as of 08:30 GMT.
United States: durable goods orders for August will be out at 12:30 GMT, with a 1.5 percent increase seen. Pending home sales are up at 14:00 GMT. Also, the Energy Information Administration will release its weekly crude and refined products inventories.
Thursday
Europe: traders will wake up with the GfK German consumer climate for October knocking on their doors at 06:00 GMT, with an expected value of 11.0. As of 12:00 GMT, Germany will also reveal its latest consumer price index, with a 0.1 percent rise on the watch.
United States: a revision on the second-quarter gross domestic product will be the main event of the day. Data will be available as of 12:30 GMT, with a steady 3.0 percent seen.
Asia: household spending, jobs/applications ratio and the consumer price index for August will be all released in Japan at 23:30 GMT. Twenty minutes later, the government will publish industrial production and retail sales figures for August, with a 0.5 percent decline and a 1.0 percent advance predicted by experts.
Friday
Europe: Germany’s retail sales for August are up at 06:00 GMT. Later on, the same country will present its unemployment rate for September at 08:00 GMT. Also, Eurozone’s consumer price index will be out at 10:00 GMT and it’s expected to tick up to 1.4 percent.
United States: the core PCE price index for August is due at 12:30 GMT, along with personal spending figures, seen increasing by 0.1 percent. Michigan University will publish the latest consumer expectations and sentiment as of 14:00 GMT.
