Weekly Outlook: July 10 - July 14
Monday
Asia: the week begins in Japan, with the latest reading on the current account scheduled for release as of 23:50 GMT (Sunday). China’s producer price index and consumer price index for June are both due for publishing at 01:30 GMT. Analyst forecasted a 5.5 percent increase and a 0.1 percent decline respectively.
Europe: Germany’s trade balance for May will be presented at 06:00 GMT.
Tuesday
United States: following Friday’s nonfarm payrolls, traders will prepare for JOLTs job openings data as of 14:00 GMT. Markets will keep an eye on this report as it could have an impact on Fed rate hike expectations.
Wednesday
Europe: attention will be directed to fresh employment data in the United Kingdom. As of 08:30 GMT, average earnings index and the unemployment rate for May, together with the claimant count for June are due for release. Eurozone industrial production will be out half an hour later, with an expected 0.3 percent growth.
United States: Fed’s Beige Book will be available at 18:00 GMT.
Thursday
Asia: China’s exports and imports and trade balance figures for June are expected to be released in early trading hours on Thursday, with market analysts seeing an increase of 8.7 percent and 13.1 percent and a move to $42.44 billion.
Europe: German consumer price index for June is due at 06:00 GMT, with 0.2 percent eyed.
United States: the producer price index for June will be out at 12:30 GMT and the Federal Budget Balance is to be published at 18:00 GMT.
Friday
Asia: the Japanese industrial production index is scheduled at 04:30 GMT.
Europe: Eurozone’s trade balance is due as of 09:00 GMT.
United States: market players will be focused on the release of inflation data, a key metric for the Federal Reserve. Consumer price index for June is set to be out at 12:30 GMT, with a 0.1 percent increase eyed. Retail sales are also to be presented at that time, with expectations for a 0.2 percent growth. Industrial production comes in at 13:15 GMT, while business inventories will be available at 14:00 GMT. University of Michigan will also publish a preliminary reading on July’s consumer sentiment.
